The dawn rises slowly through the upswept mountain peak. Beams of light break through the lush, thick jungle, and fall upon a lone, wirey surfer trekking through the wildness in the endless search for that perfect wave.

From above, he is barely visible as he tramps along the meandering track that leads him to his secret spot. The adventurer takes in the conditions in anticipation; he can feel and smell the fresh salt breeze as it hits his face…Offshore! He thinks to himself as he crashes through the bush – the weather’s good, the tide’s perfect, and the swell? Then the noise from his mind falls swiftly away as a rumbling boom greets his ears…

CRACK!!! The surfer’s heart jumps in exhilaration at the siren song of the swell. BOOM! Another set has hurled itself madly towards the waiting reef and erupted in a violent crescendo. The air becomes damp and salty, with each new wave throwing ever more droplets up to the wind, pushing the man to quicken his pace. BOOM! One last corner to round before reaching the spot, and all at once the surfer is greeted with perfection! Clean lefts rolling with overhead lines as far across the horizon as the eye can see!

The avid seeker has found his nirvana and has fuelled his hope. Even as his alarm clock rings, plummeting him back to reality, he holds on to the fantasy. Later, stuck in traffic and heading to his desk job, he recalls the wind on his face, salt on his lips and that sensation of pure joy and inner peace. He wonders at his life. Make the change!
