The Solitude Art Gallery / Open Studio is located on the Sunshine Coast, QLD, nestled in leafy Glenview. After taking the Ettamogah Pub turn off from the Bruce Highway, the Gallery can be found by following the tourist signs and travelling a short distance along Glenview Road.

Once there you will meet and talk directly to the artist and owner of the Gallery, Darren Trebilco. The Open Studio, situated inside the Gallery, offers an experience of seeing an artist at work. You can view new artworks in development on the easel and interact with Darren as he works on his latest piece of original, unique art. What a great way to get the inside story about the creative process or Darren himself!

Darren has a distinctive style, a form of contemporary expressionism. His artwork jumps from the canvas with dynamic energy, colour, and texture, depicting subjects that vary from portraits to animals to pure abstract, open to interpretation. Walking into a space filled with such amazing diversity creates an experience that just has to be seen to be seen to believed!

The Solitude Art Gallery was originally designed as an oyster farmer’s cottage and built in Ning in 1932. This beautiful, quirky building was relocated to the tranquil Glenview block 15 years ago and has been tastefully renovated with a blend of classic Queenslander character and elegant modern style.

The Gallery sits on just under an acre of paradise, surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, attracting a wide variety of native birdlife and animals – a perfect spot to find creative inspiration. Purchased by Darren and partner Danielle on the 13th May 2013, the property has since been converted into the Solitude Art Gallery, a space to lose yourself in Darren Trebilco’s creative dream.
