‘FAMILIAR EMBRACE’
The days and nights have been long in the studio. My hands, back and eyes are all strained from standing in one spot for so long, from the studio lights and paint fumes. As I clean up from the night’s painting session, I allow my mind to wander, to think about your beauty. I have been longing for you now for some time… It has been so long, that I can not remember when we last spent time together. As I collapse in bed, all I can think about is your ‘FAMILIAR EMBRACE’.
It will be dawn before we can meet.
I wake and wipe away the heavy sleep brought on by last night’s work. I get into my car and begin the journey to you, my beloved.
Wearily, I disembark from my car and walk down a rocky, wooded track. I make my way through the wild undergrowth. It looks to have been months since anyone has been down here. The path takes me around a corner and I find “my beautiful”. There she is, standing tall and strong. As the gentle light of a new day kisses the edges of her worn, life-scarred skin, I see the silhouette of this magnificent spirit, long limbs dancing in the sunlight. I gaze upon this radiance in adoration I wonder why it has been so long since my last visit.
When was your last visited with Mother Nature?
